Presentation of project results:


International conference/ workshop GRNET presented in the Young Researchers Winter School (YRWS) on EUROPEAN PROJECTS: Dissemination of Results and ICT innovations presenting the Natural Europe project. The Winter School took place in Karpenisi, Greece on 31st of March to 3rd of April 2011 (http://efita.eu/yrws/).

International conference/ workshop

GRNET participated in “ECLAP 2012 Conference on Information Technologies for performing arts, media and entertainment” that was held in Florence, Italy from May 7th to May 9th 2012. The ECLAP conference offered the opportunity to European Commission projects and partners in the areas of cultural heritage and Europeana to collaborate and present their results. GRNET organized a workshop titled “Natural Europe Learning Pathways” to promote the project’s results and suggest ways to use them in other fields of interest (performing arts).
International conference/ workshop GRNET participated in the “2012 SPNHC 27th Annual Meeting” held in New Haven, Connecticut, USA from June 11th to June 16th 2012 and hosted by Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History. GRNET presented “Technology Enhanced Education for Natural History Museums” to an audience of more than 60 Natural History museum curators and educators.
International conference/ workshop GRNET participated at DISH Conference in Hague, Netherlands from 6th to 9th of December 2011. In the DISH Conference, the Digital Curation training events that took place within the context of the Natural Europe Project had been presented.
International conference/ workshop GRNET also participated at Europeana aggregation workshop. The Europeana aggregation workshop took place in Hague, Netherlands on September 27th, 2012. In this workshop, the GRNET participated as member of the aggregation partners of Europeana through the NE project.
International conference/ workshop GRNET participated at Europeana conference in Leuven. The event took place in Brussels, Belgium from 13th to 15th of June 2012.
International conference/ workshop GRNET took part at Eva Minerva conference in Jerusalem, Israel. The conference took place from 13th to 16th November 2012.
International conference/ workshop GRNET took part at MTSR Conference in Izmir, Turkey from 11th to 14th of October 2011. Organization and facilitation of the special track on learning infrastructures (http://ieru.org/org/mtsr2011/MSLI/). In the above mention conference, a paper and a presentation on Intellectual Property Right issues and how we dealt with them in the NE project had been presented.

GRNET also participated in ECLAP conference in Florence, Italy, presenting the Natural. ECLAP took place from 8 to 10 April 2012.

GRNET also attended the DREAM Conference and presented a paper from Natural Europe (Copenhagen). The conference took place in Copenhagen, Denmark from 19 to 27 April 2012. In Denmark, the paper titled “Enhancing Educational Activities in the Museums through Technology and Pedagogy: The Natural Europe experience” was presented, focusing on the possibilities of exploitation of Natural History Museum collections for educational purposes.
International conference/ workshop GRNET participated in Green Hackathon which took place in Stockholm, Sweden from 21 to 23 October 2011.

GRNET also participated in Hack4Europe! 2012 in Brussels, Belgium from 13 to 15 of June 2012.
International conference/ workshop GRNET also participated at the Natural Europe Educators' Summer School at Herakleion, Crete, Greece from 2/7/2012 to 6/7/2012, where the Natural Europe project had been presented to the school’s participant. The pathway authoring tool had been introduced to the participants and the participants were trained in the use of the tools.

EA presented in the EDEN Annual Conference 2011 held in Dublin, Ireland on 19-22 of June 2011 with an audience of 300 teachers, policy makers and learning community stakeholders, presenting the “Learning about Natural History and Environmental Education through the Use of Digital Resources” (http://www.eden-online.org/eden-events/dublin.html).


International conference/ workshop

EA participated in SPDECE-2012. Multidisciplinary symposium on the design and evaluation of digital content for education, held in Alicante, Spain, on 13-15 June, 2012, with an audience of about seventy (70) educators and computer specialists, presenting “Digitizing natural history and contextualizing environmental education: the Natural Europe project as mediator of innovative and effective learning”.

MNHNL participated in the UMAC 2011 presenting the project “The Natural Europe Project: Changing the way museum education is perceived and conducted worldwide”. The conference took place in Lisbon on 22-24 of September 2011 with approximately 120 participants, researchers and museum curators.

MNHNL participated in II International Congress - ICT and Education – ticEduca 2012, presenting “Digital Natural History repositories and tools for inquiry-based education”. The event took place in The Institute of Education of Lisbon University (30 November-2December 2012) with an audience of researchers in the field of education.
International conference/ workshop MNHNL presented in “Learn Science: IBSME activities in formal and non-formal environments”, which took place in Pavilhão do Conhceimento-Ciência Viva, Lisbon, 14-15 September 2012, with an audience of researchers in the field of education and teachers, presenting “Improving science education and literacy at the MNHNC”.
International conference/ workshop NHMC gave a presentation of NHMC and its educational activities in the context of “Natural Europe Summer School for Educators” at Iraklion of Crete, Greece on July 6th, 2011.
International conference/ workshop JME presented “Wie entstehen Fossilien?” in Internationaler Museumstag 2012, which took place in Jura-Museum Eichstätt, on May 20th 2012, with an audience of about seventy museum visitors.
International conference/ workshop HU participated in FIBONACCI seminar with the presentation “The use of external environment of the school”. The seminar was held at the University of Helsinki, at Solvalla Nature Centre, Finland, at Heureka Science Centre, Finland and Harakka Nature Centre, Finland on October 10th-12th, 2011 with an audience of researchers, teacher educators, teachers, educational experts, science communicators, teacher trainees, Nature teachers and educational experts (186 participants in total).
International conference/ workshop UBT participated in the the 13th international spring school of biology didactics presenting a poster of Natural Europe project. The conference was held at Mühlheim an der Ruhr, Germany on 10-13 of April 2011 addressing to PhD students of biology didactics with 100 participants (http://www.biodidaktik.de/?site_id=109).

UBT participated in the International Conference on Biology Didactics presenting a poster of Natural Europe project. The conference was organized by Chair of Biology Education, University of Bayreuth and took place Bayreuth, Germany on 12-15 of September 2011 with approximately 250 participants that where mostly science teachers, educators and researchers.

EA participated in the 9th Environmental Conference with a presentation titled “Teaching Natural History and Environmental Education with Use of Digital Tools”. The conference that was held in Naoussa, Greece 11th-13th of March 2011 attended approximately 150 Museum Educators and Teachers.

EA team gave a presentation about the project titled “Digital tools in the service of knowledge” in the context of the Outstanding Students Congress held in Pelion, Greece 11th-13th of February 2011 with the participation of middle school and high school students (approximetely 200 participants).

National conference/ workshop EA team gave a presentation titled “Natural Europe - educational pathways (a tool for teachers)” in the context of the event Effective Teaching of Natural Sciences, which took place in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, on November 1st 2011. The event was attended by approximately 80 science teachers.

EA participated in Natural Sciences Summer School for Students which took place in Panormos, Crete, Greece, on July 1st-6th 2012, with a presentation titled “Natural Europe educational activity: the River of Life”. The summer school was attended by approximately 30 high school students.

The NHMC participated in the Annual Meeting of Schools for the presentation of Environmental Education Projects in Iraklion of Crete, Greece on 15th of March 2011, presenting the pathway "The River of Life".
National conference/ workshop The NHMC participated in the Science teaching in primary school presenting Educational pathways created by NHMC for primary schools. The event took place in Iraklion of Crete, Greece on 6th of April 2011, with an audience of 80 teachers of primary schools.
National conference/ workshop  MNHNL presented the Natural Europe project in the workshop “Natural History Museum of Lisbon: New collections and digital contents (Museu Nacional de História Natural: Novas colecções e conteúdos digitais)” that took place in Lisbon, Portugal on 31st of March, 2011. The participants were mostly researchers and museum curators (50 participants in total).
National conference/ workshop MNHNL participated in Plant diversity: Evolution, Adaptation and Conservation with a presentation titled “The Botanical Garden in active teaching of botany”. The event was held in MNHNL on July 10th 2012 and attended by approximately 10 teachers.
National conference/ workshop HNHM team participated at Teaching natural sciences by up to date and attractive methods (Természettudomány tanítása korszerűen és vonzóan) Conference presenting the paper “Modern museums and their relation to education and teacher training” written by T. Vásárhelyi in the context of Natural Europe project. The conference was held in Eötvös Lóránd University, Budapest (Hungary) on 23rd -24th of August 2011.
National conference/ workshop HNHM team participated in Ways to Sustainability conference with the presentations “New learning ideas in museums” and “A patway on herbs” in Budapest, Hungary, on September 21st-22nd 2012 with an audience of 50 teachers and museum educators.

The HU participated in the event “Research in the Department of Teacher Education” giving a presentation titled “Unit of Science Centre Pedagogy” presenting Natural Europe project. The event was held in the Department of Teacher Education, Helsinki, Finland on 9th of May, 2011 addressing to professors, researchers and teachers from the department (in total 200 participants attended the event). 
National conference/ workshop The HU participates in the “Days of Didactics” with the presentation titled “Näkymätön havaittavaksi: Lisäketodellisuus abstraktin oppiaineksen ja konkreettisen tekemisen yhdistäjänä”. The event took place in Turku, Finland on 11th of February, 2011 with the presence of 20 teachers and researchers.
National conference/ workshop HU participated in Tiedepäivä with the presentation “ICT and Field Education”, held at the University of Helsinki, on April 24th, 2012 and attended by 72 researchers and teacher educators.
National conference/ workshop JME presented “Neue Wege zur Verbreitung von Unterrichtsmaterial” in the event Presentation for Students, which took place in JME/Katholische Universität Eichstätt/Ingolstadt on June 16th 2012 and was attended by university students.
National conference/ workshop TNHM participated in Information Day of the Environmental Board, held in Valga, Estonia, on September 12th 2012.
National conference/ workshop TNHM participated in Winter conference of Biology Teachers, held in Tartu, Estonia, on January 27th - 28th 2012 with the presentation “Natural Europe Project” and an audience of 120 Environmental workers and 200 Biology teachers respectively.
