Natural Europe team rocked at Europeana's hackathon
Ε4Ε: Europeana for Education

Natural Europe team participated in the "Hack4Europe! 2012" event that took place in Leuven and won the "Social inclusion" award! The goal of the event was to show the potentials of the Europeana content and APIs by building applications to showcase the social and business value of open cultural data.

E4E is a set of two widgets that automatically suggest cultural resources from Europeana and learning resources from Open Discovery Space to the author of educational pathways. E4E widgets can be integrated in an authoring environment such as OMEKA to augment the authoring process and to enhance the educational impact of a pathway. The main rationale behind E4E development was to explore educational uses of items on Europeana. The E4E widgets was developed by Stauros Gkinis and Nikos Manolis during the "Hack4Europe! 2012" event and in the context of the Natural Europe and Open Discovery Space projects.

The E4E team won the "Social inclusion" award for their hack!
