The 4th Natural Europe project meeting was held between Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st of March 2012 in Sankt Augustin, Germany. The meeting has been hosted at the Fraunhofer Institute Center Schloss Birlinghoven.

Natural Europe Educators Summer School 2012

The Natural Europe Summer School will take place at Heraklion, Crete, Greece from the 1st to the 6th of July 2012. The host institution will be the University of Crete. The venue will be announced in due course.  The course is titled: "NATURAL EUROPE: Use of Natural History and Environmental Cultural Heritage Digital Content for Education", and it is open to science teachers, teacher trainers, museum educators/museum staff and science communicators.

Green Hackathon

Two members of Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNET) team, namely Giannis Stoitsis and Stavros Gkinis, participated in the “Green Hackathon” event that took place in Stockholm. The goal of the event was to highlight the potentials of the “Open Data”-principles, which make it easier to access “environmental facts”, and which are an important part of decisions with a focus on sustainability in our society.

Natural Europe on EDEN Conference

Workshop: Natural Europe Learning Pathways

eden20The ‘Natural Europe Learning Pathways’ workshop aims to build upon the strengths of the non-formal learning taking place in natural history museums and incorporate it to the school environment. In this context, participants will be familiarized with the use of innovative means for the proper exploitation of digital content regarding natural history, environmental education and science. The participants will be invited to use new technologies and especially the graphical interfaces developed for the Natural Europe project in order to adapt the material of their choice and transform it to educational pathways.
